Hello The Cove

I'm a lover of all beautiful things. Few can deny the beauty of a dolphin. Please watch.

My husband and I watched the entire documentary last night. It's truly heartbreaking that this goes on anywhere in the world. Take action here.

Hello D Magazine

I'm not from Dallas nor do I live there, but I must say that the homes I've seen featured in D Magazine recently certainly make me wish I did.

First was this home which has made its way all around blogland. It seems to have more rooms than I can even keep track of and each seems to have its own look and style.

Now this home which was more recently featured, I'm completely smitten with and in my eyes is pretty much perfection. I love the neutral decor base used throughout the house and the pops of colors which come from the accessories.

That space you see through the double doors is their outdoor space - gorgeous!

Taking a break from my regular posts filled with pretty photos to share something not so pretty.

Yes, that is Danielle from Real Housewives of New Jersey. It was nice of her to ask the guys from Jersey Shore to do the back up dancing. That part where they lift her up over their heads is amazing.

Hello 26

Today is my 26th birthday - I'm starting to climb into those upper 20's. I spent the weekend saying goodbye to 25 with friends and family. Saturday we took a night time boat ride on Lake Michigan, headed down the river, and then stopped to watch the fireworks. Sunday consisted of Brunch out with my husband at Toast and then dinner at our favorite local place Cafe Ba Ba Reeba - where we shared tapas and some delish sangria. I have absolutely zero pictures because I was too busy eating, drinking, and chatting with friends - I really need to work on squeezing some photo time in.

I decided for today I'd share my "Only in my dreams Birthday List" - you know the things my husband would surely by me if only we'd won the lotto.

Alright, let's start with some items for the living room. I'd really love to get some Amanda Stone Talley artwork to fill up all that blank wall space.

Some of these luxurious cashmere throws from WS Home.

I've been eyeing this mirror for months now since seeing it over at Shelter Design Blog.

And to add pops of color to our living space - some bright moroccan poufs.
On to the bedroom - I'd really love to makeover this space - but it's currently last on our list. The first thing I'd get for our Master is this Elisabeth Entertainment Center to use as an armoire.

And what would a newly remade bedroom be with Colette.

And since this is all completely fictional - why not throw in this amazing Chrisopher Peacock kitchen and dining room.

What would your dream birthday wish list consist of?

Hello Friday

The end of this week has been a busy one for me. Love this vignette and love the idea of turning a frame into a tray. Have a lovely weekend!

Hello Kate

Meet Kate (or Katie as most people call her - I have a horrible habit of reducing peoples names to 1 syllable), my sister in law. She was married back in April and I wanted to share a few shots from her big day. This one above is my absolute favorite. I love how it shows so many details, her flowers, jewelry, and those apple green shoes, they all look so pretty against her ivory dress. The shoes were a gift from me - she really wanted green shoes after I wore purple shoes to my wedding and I looked long and hard to find those guys - luckily she loved them.

Here she is just being a goof on the day of.

Another shot of her jewelry and flowers.

Here are a few photos of her escort cards/branches that I made and originally posted about here.

I made the table numbers with the same mum motif that I used on the escort cards.

A shot of her gorgeous dress.

A close up of the hanger with her new last name I purchased for her from here.

A shot of the bride and her bridesmaids. Katie purchased matching umbrellas for us all in case of rain - they definitely came in handy for a little while during outdoor photos.

The whole wedding party.

Now a few shots of the happy Bride and Groom. Matt (her husband) is in the Army. He is currently in Iraq, and Katie misses him so much. We all greatly appreciate all he is doing for our country and any prayers for our him and our other soldiers are greatly appreciated.

Hello Luck

A couple of weeks ago I had a day filled with luck. Lots and lots of good luck. First I received an email informing me that I was one of three winners of the Trex Designer Deck Contest. The prize is a $20,000 deck makeover! I must say I owe a special thanks to Eddie Ross who posted about the contest on his blog, leading me to enter. So thank you Eddie Ross and thank you Trex for a wonderful opportunity and wonderful prize!

And a mere few hours after that awesome news I received another email informing me I had scored an internship that I had interviewed for with the Misse from Honey Bee Weddings. Honey Bee Wedding's is a day of coordination and full wedding planning company. I really adore anything event or interior design related and would love to transition myself into a career in these industries - so I am so ecstatic about the opportunity to work with this company. I really feel there is not better way to learn than hands on experience.

These things along with my job that pays the bills and my blog will keep my super busy this fall. But I am so excited for the opportunities the end of this year may bring and so excited to continue sharing all of these little adventures with you. Hope you'll continue to join me for the ride.
