Hello Bench

I am obsessed with this bench by Nate Berkus for HSN. Sadly, it is sold out. I love the look of the legs and that deep grey velvet upholstery. I'm hoping they will bring it back and this time I will snatch it right up!

Hello Christmas Table

My husband and I are hosting Christmas in our home this year. I've been on the hunt for inspiration images for our table and here are some of my favorites.

1. 2. 3. 4.unknown 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.

My plan is to use lots of muted colors - silver, gold, burlap and add some pops of green and some pattern. Now it's just a matter of finding all the items that fit what I've got pictured in my head.

Hello Michelle Morgan Harrison

Obsessed does not even begin to describe my feelings toward Michelle Morgan Harrison's Christmas decor as featured in Connecticut Cottages and Homes December '08 issue.

What a great DIY idea for an advent calendar.

I am a huge fan of paperwhites during this time of year - although I must admit - the one's I purchased last year did not smell so great at all. Has anyone else ever had this issue with these flowers?

I purchased little houses similar to the ones above at Homegoods last year. I love the books wrapped in craft paper and ribbon.

Great silver wreath. I plan on making one Eddie Ross style with some green, gold and silver ornaments purchased from Target last year.

I love the simplicity of it all - the colors are subtle and not overdone, and the effect is absolutely beautiful.

I really like the look of the pale blue buffet and that ornate gold mirror.

I would love to come home to this everyday!

This home literally has it all for me - paperwhites, sage, burlap, greenery, and silver. I'm on a mission to create a Holiday look in my home that is as refreshing, soothing, and stunning as this. Last weekend I planted some paperwhite bulbs that I purchased at Home Depot - I'm hoping they will look as beautiful as hers by Christmas. I am on the hunt for the perfect sage satin ribbon, I have a burlap tree skirt that I basically just cut out of a big piece of burlap fabric I purchased at JoAnn's last year. All of that along with some greenery and I'm hoping to come close to this look.

What is your favorite thing to see in Holiday decor?

Hello Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy dinner at my parents home - much less stressful and much less work than hosting it ourselves. Last year, however, we did host Thanksgiving in our home and it was the first Holiday we had hosted for our families.

Here are some images of our Thanksgiving table from last year.

I spray painted manzanita branches and pumpkins a silver/gold color.

The linens are from Martha Stewart's line for Macy's - I got them on clearance and it's a great silver/grey color with a simple, pretty pattern.

We used the china we had received for our wedding and my Grandmothers silver which I was lucky enough to receive as a shower gift. (I really wish I would have fixed that crooked spoon prior to this photo!).

Here is a photo of my husband's father and my father cutting our turkey. It was the first turkey I have ever made on my own. I brined it for 2 days in Williams Sonoma brine and then cooked it in a bag on the day of - it was really delicious!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends!

Hello Annechovie

I absolutely adored this stamp that Anne Harwell of the blog Annechovie posted about on Tuesday. It is the perfect accent for your Holiday cards.

I've been a long time follower of Anne's blog and her artwork which consists of paintings of beautiful rooms and colorful pieces of furniture. Check out her etsy shop here and check out some of her other items including this cheerful stamp here. Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration Anne!

Wedding Wednesday

For this week's Wedding Wednesday I have two lovely videos to share.

This first video was found here on design sponge and chronicles the day of a couple's elopement. It really reminds me of what the big day is supposed to be all about.

Video by Britt Simmons

This second video is a super sweet engagement, built around a great love song. Found via Chateau de Lu.

This one is possibly fake according to lots of comments on youtube and perezhilton - but I like to believe it's real.

Hello New Arcadia

A New Arcadia sale started yesterday over at One Kings Lane. I must say that I loved so many of the items in this sale. So much so that I had to purchase a couple items - I figured since we will be hosting Christmas this year it's the perfect reason to purchase some new, pretty glasses/plates. Here is what I scored.

Check out One Kings Lane to see even more wonderful sales. If you need an invitation to join let me know and I will email the invite to you.

Hello Veteran's Day

This post is dedicated to my brother in law, Matt, and all the other service men and women of both past and present. We are so grateful for the sacrifice you all have made for our country. Matt is currently on a year long tour in Iraq - we are constantly praying for his safe return and strength for his wife Katie while she anxiously awaits his homecoming.
