Hello Bling

So this post isn't about the bling you might think, no fancy jewelry or big diamonds.  Instead it's one very bling-y light fixture.  I've been obsessed with the look of this ochre chandelier for quite some time now.  The Robert Abbey Bling fixture is one I found with a very similar look.  It has a much more affordable price tag but is still on the high end for our bathroom budget which I've been trying really hard to keep in line.  Here is the ochre version in many forms.

Here is the Robert Abbey version I found here for an even more affordable price than its usual.

I cannot wait for this guy to arrive at my door. It is going to hang in our guest bath whose reno is happening as you read.  I'll be back tomorrow with some photos of this project, including a sneak peak of herringbone floor tile!

Hello Tile Obsession

When I saw this image on pinterest yesterday I was completely enamored. I love everything from the brass bryant sconces, to the simple stone vanity, and most of all that ridiculously awesome tile. I immediately followed the image back to its source, New Ravenna. Almost everything they make is absolutely beautiful and can be found only in select retailers. I had seen a few of their tile patterns and bathrooms on sites in the past but never knew the original source and never would have thought so many beautiful items came from one place! Here are some more that really caught my eye.

A herringbone mosaic.

This one is simply beautiful.

More ikat - this time in blues and whites.

More beauty.

A modern take on the traditional hex tile.

And a bathroom thats perfect in a whole different way - totally traditional and yet still modern and stunning.

Hello Guest Bath

Alright folks, I'm going to need your help on this one. Today is the last day of the Restoration Hardware Bath sale and I need to make some purchases. Mainly - a drain trap, water supply lines, and a faucet. Below is the Gramercy Washstand with glass legs. I purchased this sucker last year on super sale from Restoration Hardware (minus the marble top - I can purchase one somewhere for way less than what RH was going to charge). The finish on mine is satin nickel because that is all that was available. Would it be OK to order the other items in polished nickel? I like the shiny-ness more on the polished finish. What about mixing finishes - could I do the satin nickel and add some brass/bronzey hardware? So many decisions and so little time.

And for the even bigger questions what look do I go for in here? It is a guest bathroom, we have a claw foot tub that was originally in our master bath, and we have a toilet that is already there. Other than that I've just got lots of ideas and pretty images.

I'm loving the brass in these images but I'm a little chicken to go that route - would you/have you?!

And my current fave: Herringbone pattern.

I'm also loving the shape of the backsplash in this one.

I'm stuck. Help.
